It’s a Wrap
It’s a wrap!
Acorns, horse chestnuts and falling leaves – not to mention the dark evenings and switching on the heating – all announce that autumn is upon us. That does not mean that weddings are on hold until spring – they have just moved to inside venues. Hotels, hunting lodges and castles do “the works”, so there is no need to set foot outside. Don’t you believe it. Photographers love autumnal hues of browns and golds, sky and fresh air. Great; but at 9 degrees C after 23 degrees C in the venue, it is as if one has been immersed in an ice bucket. The old anorak just doesn’t cut it on wedding photos, so let’s wrap it up.
No, we’re not talking about Mexican food or films, but we might as well. Do you know why film directors shout “It’s a WRAP” when the finish a film? Well, it was an abbreviated way of saying Wrap up the filming; get the Reel ready And Print it. So let’s get out the red carpet!
Mothers of the Bride and Mothers of the Grooms can look every bit the ‘Greta Garbo’ as they flounce out of the hotel for the photos. Shivering and blue lips are not a Mother of the Bride/Mother of the Groom’s best looks. We have wraps, cover-ups, capes, blingy faux furs to warm up the coldest day and add glamour and glitz. As Christmas approaches, glitter is the order of the day to bring even more sparkle to everyone’s special day. So get those chestnuts roasting!
